Since publishing its climate budgeting guide last year, the Municipal Net-Zero Action Research Partnership (N-ZAP) has mobilized its research and practitioner-led insights to better help Canadian municipalities integrate climate commitments into their financial decision-making.

We’re inviting municipal staff to join us for this two-hour, in-depth virtual training session to gain practical advice on how your municipality can implement climate budgeting or level up existing practices to share accountability for climate action across your organization and achieve your climate targets.

Join us on Wednesday, June 17, at 1 p.m. ET to:

  • Learn about how climate budgeting practices can enable you to share accountability for climate plan implementation across your municipality, empower staff across your municipality, and achieve your climate targets
  • Gain key insights into the growing landscape of climate budgeting in Canada and internationally
  • Learn how to put our climate budgeting guide into practice

Benefits of this training:  

  • Thoroughly explore the early steps of climate budgeting implementation, with practical advice on how to get started, who to talk to within your organization, and which key success factors you should prioritize in the early stages.
  • Take part in peer-to-peer interaction and discussion with other municipal practitioners.
  • Engage in activities and reflection exercises about how you can apply what you’ve learned to your community’s own specific context.
  • Take a closer look at N-ZAP’s existing guides and other resources to help you on your journey.

This webinar will be delivered in English with French simultaneous interpretation.

N-ZAP is a research partnership funded, in part, by the Government of Canada through the Climate Action and Awareness Fund (CAAF) and jointly led by the University of Waterloo, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM) Green Municipal Fund (GMF) and ICLEI Canada, working with 11 other academic institutions, and eight national organizations and 15 municipal partners.

Depuis la publication de son guide de la budgétisation climatique l’an dernier, les spécialistes du Partenariat de recherche-action pour la carboneutralité municipale (P-RAC) offrent des conseils de fine pointe aux municipalités canadiennes pour mieux les aider à intégrer les engagements climatiques dans leur prise de décisions financières.

Nous offrons aux fonctionnaires municipaux une séance de formation en ligne sur l’intégration et le développement de la budgétisation climatique. Venez approfondir vos connaissances en la matière, faites partie de l’action climatique au sein de votre organisation et atteignez vos objectifs climatiques.

Participez à notre webinaire le mercredi 17 juin à 13 h HE pour :

  • Apprendre comment les pratiques en budgétisation climatique autonomisent chaque partie prenante de votre organisation municipale en action climatique, assurent une délégation des tâches chez les fonctionnaires municipaux et vous aide à atteindre les cibles climatiques.
  • Obtenir des renseignements clés sur la place grandissante de la budgétisation climatique au Canada et à l’échelle mondiale.
  • Apprendre comment recourir aux principes du guide de la budgétisation climatique.

Objectifs de cette formation :  

  • Examiner en détail les étapes préliminaires à l’intégration de la budgétisation climatique, recevoir des conseils pratiques sur les premières étapes du processus, savoir à qui s’adresser au sein de votre organisation et découvrir les facteurs de réussite clés à prioriser au début du processus.
  • Faire des échanges avec vos pairs et d’autres professionnels du secteur municipal.
  • Dans le cadre d’activités et d’exercices de réflexion, apprendre à mettre en pratique les connaissances acquises dans votre propre contexte collectif ou municipal.
  • Consulter les guides du projet P-RAC et nos autres ressources pour une aide supplémentaire dans votre parcours.

Cette séance de formation est complémentaire au webinaire du projet P-RAC sur la budgétisation climatique, car elle vous prépare davantage à l’application actuelle et future de ce système dans votre organisation.

La séance se tiendra en anglais, mais une interprétation simultanée en français sera proposée.

Le projet P-RAC est un partenariat de recherche financé par le gouvernement du Canada par l’intermédiaire du Fonds d’action et de sensibilisation pour le climat (FASC) et co-piloté par l’Université de Waterloo, le Fonds municipal vert (FMV) de la Fédération canadienne des municipalités (FCM) et ICLEI Canada, en collaboration avec 11 autres établissements universitaires, 8 organisations nationales et 15 partenaires municipaux.
